The truth is that big dreams don’t become a reality overnight and it has actually been more than a year since this company was born, but it takes a lot of pieces to fall in place for anything in life to see any sort of shape. For us, it took a pandemic, canceled flights, and a very ambitious female traveler (our founder Vanessa Karel) to realize that there was a huge need for a service that helped women navigate the world safer, because girls and every womxn deserve to be safe while they navigate the world.

To this day, Greether has users in over 90 countries and 450+ cities worldwide, with travelers having gone as far as Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Morocco, Budapest, France, El Salvador, Mexico, Canada, Ireland and many other countries.

This past November 18th, 2022, we celebrated one year officially in business and being a for- progress company aligned with some of the most fundamental development goals in sustainable tourism, women equality and safe spaces. We celebrated with meetups around the world and a big partnership with Nomadher in which we co-hosted the first Female Globetrotter Festival in San Francisco.

The purpose for the Female Globetrotter Festival 2022, co-hosted by Nomadher and Greether was to reach more women who are curious to explore the world, providing them with a safe space where they could discuss travel stories and inspire each other and some very needed fun.

The festival brought together travel influencers such as Flavia Cornejo (Latina Traveler), Estefany Hernandez (Wandering Stefany), industry leaders like Latinx Travel Club and Benicia Magazine.

The event also featured a panel discussion with industry experts and inspirational women in the travel industry, including Vanessa Karel,  founder of Greether, Hyojeong Kim founder of NomadHer a travel app community for female globetrotters with a vision of empowering women through travel meetups and events, Pauline - CEO & Founder of GlobeSisters a couchsurfing project for travelers to crash on women’s homes in San Francisco, Olga - CEO & Founder of Tripsider and a special appearance of the CEO and founder of UUUUU the coolest and newest nail innovation brand.

The attendees were received by a surprise goodie bag by Greether and Nomadher with sponsor products from Melixir, filflo, SODOWE, UUUUU, SAIB, Yulip and a special artist booth by the renowned Catalonian artist Marina Sole.

The event space was sponsored by Mindthebridge and we couldn’t be more thankful for the amazing collaboration we had with Hyojeong Kim Nomadher’s Founder and CEO.
